While it is not mandatory, it is recommended to use a gamepad to enhance the gaming experience. With programs like JoytoKey, configuring an Xbox or Playstation gamepad for Undertale Together is a simple task. The mod makes minimal adjustments to the original game to accommodate two players. For example, all cutscenes have been modified to include the second character. The second player is able to choose their own name and heart color. In combat, the turn order is structured so that player 1, enemies, player 2, enemies, and so on, ensuring a fair gameplay experience.
